Let's look at the definition: the word DRAG as a VERB: 1. to pull (someone or something) along forcefully, roughly, or with difficulty: 2. to deliberately mention an unwelcome or unpleasant fact: 3. to pass slowly and tediously: 4. to inhale the smoke from (a cigarette).
NOUN 1. the action of pulling something forcefully or with difficulty: 2. a boring or tiresome person or thing: 3. an act of inhaling smoke from a cigarette: 4. clothing more conventionally worn by the opposite sex, especially women's clothes worn by a man
From a strictly educated viewpoint I now understand Kane's fascination with this.
To pull along with difficulty from a tiresome or boring person while inhaling smoke from someone else's tires while being passed slowly while he wears women's clothes!!!
As far as the race part - he wins!!! (LOL)

I've always had a fascination with hoot, despite his women's clothing fetish. Its the LT1 obsession that I find embarrassing

What can I say! LT1's are cheap horsepower. Even while dressed in drag!

Yea, I kinda missed you guys too. Just a little. Anyway, my racing buddy Thad got rid of his 496 big block this winter and built himself........ you guessed it, an LT1 for his race truck. Check him out on his facebook page. Thad Smith in Slidell. Yep, he's joining the ranks of the pump gas LT1 winners. Ain't no LS motors gonna hang with us!

The nova is just about ready to terrorize the track again. This winter I upgraded one thing, I installed a new temp gauge that has a big ole white face with big ole numbers that are backlit really good so I can see the engine temp in the staging lanes. My old one was small and not easily read since the scale was too close and the numbers were small. Everything is critical in bracket racing including having your engine at the same temp for every pass. This should help. I had done some horse trading with a guy and that gauge was included so it was sort of free. Not bad as compared to last winter when I totally overhauled the suspension including tubbing the rear, narrowing the rear end, new springs, shocks, drag radials and cal-trac traction bars. It cost me almost $1300.00 last year.
I also replaced the front brakes including new calipers, new rotors and a new hose for the right side. At 120+ MPH, it's really cool if you can stop. Not really an upgrade, just a little maintenance. Changed the oil and the fuel filter too. The last item on the list is I need to weld my alternator bracket back together. I made the brackets 6 years ago and they work okay but I made one for the back of the alternator out of 1/8" plate and I guess it's kinda thin. It split in the middle of the bolt slot. I'm going to just weld up the split and keep an eye on it.

Yea Roy, it's kinda important that you keep up with the schedule since you are the new crew chief, remember?

So this weekend is the first IHRA race at Gulfport. It's a double header on Saturday. Two races in one day so one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Got my lucky horseshoe, my rabbit's foot and my fingers crossed. The last big race I entered, I won but Roy was there. Y'all reckon I need to convince him to come to this one?

I wish I could make it. I'd love to be there to support you but I won't be able to make it this weekend. Sorry but good luck!
